How to Upload Bulletins From the Tricaster



  1. Make sure you are in the Tech account on the tricaster.
  2. from the desktop, click on Windows Movie maker
  3. from side-menu 1, click on Import Video
  4. use Windows Explorer, the window that pops up, to browse for the Bulletin that needs uploading.
  5. once it has loaded into your project library, drag the file(s) to the timeline in order
  6. from side-menu 3, click on Save to my Computer
  7. in the window that appears, name the file Bulletin Date
  8. save the file in G:\upload10\bulletins-wmv\
  9. click Next until it starts to save the file
  10. once saved, exit Windows Movie Maker
  11. from the desktop, click on Free Video to Flash Converter
  12. click on the first Browse button and go to G:\upload10\bulletins-wmv\ and select the file that you want to upload
  13. Click on the second Browse and locate G:\upload10\bulletins-flv\
  14. Click on Output Name, right next to the second browse, and make sure that everything is filled in correctly, make sure that NO box is checked.
  15. Click on Convert
  16. Once that is done, an webpage will open with some coding on it
  17. From the desktop, click on CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor
  18. From the webpage that opened, copy the html page and paste it into a new page in CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor
  19. Save the file in G:\upload10\bulletins-flv\ as bdate.html
  20. From the desktop, click on FileZilla Client
  21. From the drop-down menu, select cptvupload@cptvweb.org
  22. you should now see two file windows, the left one is local files, the right one is files on the website
  23. in the left window, locate G:\upload10\bulletins-flv\
  24. in the right window, locate /mediaplayer/bulletins10
  25. select the .html, .xml, and .flv files of the bulletin that you are uploading from the left window and drag it to the right window.
  26. in the right window, go back to / by clicking on the .. folder at the top of the list until you are back at the main directory
  27. here is what the main directory looks like
  28. in the right window, locate the file bulletins.html and drag it to the left window
  29. using CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor, locate G:\upload10\bulletins-flv\ then open bulletins.html
  30. change the iframe code to display the latest bulletin
  31. Scroll down to where the bulletins are listed
  32. copy the top li tag from the list
  33. paste the code that you just copied on top of the list
  34. correct the file to the correct file name and correct the date as well.
  35. save bulletins.html
  36. Using FileZilla, drag the bulletins.html file from the left window to the right window
  37. Using a web browser, go to http://cptvweb.org/bulletins.html and make sure that what you did works, if not try to find the error or ask Hani Rihani or Trevor Jacobson for help
